David “Monty” Montgomery is a Presbyterian minister, and Director of IFESIreland; the Christian Unions, which aims to inspire and equip students to follow Jesus in the Universities of Ireland. He has taught for IFES groups internationally; most recently in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Mexico and Belarus.

Before that he ministered in Greystones, County Wicklow, and in Knock, Belfast. He has published a book on worship, contributed to a book on Wisdom Literature, as well as published articles on forgiveness, reconciliation, childlessness, hymnology and a Christian approach to sport. He helped organise the Irish preachers Conference for several years and teaches Preaching at the Irish Bible Institute in Dublin.  His doctoral thesis was on bivocational church planting in Ireland.

He is married to Gwen, a professional declutterer (!), and when he is not grappling with the cryptic crossword from the London Times, he enjoys cycling around County Down, is a passionate Manchester City fan and devours crime fiction.
