Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

With our first night getting ever closer, we'd like to encourage you to pray for this years convention. With so much going on and so many people involved, it's encouraging to see the Bangor Worldwide entering it's 75th year.

This is in no small part down to the commitment to the prayers of many dedicated people.

Speakers

Michael Nazir-Ali

We are blessed every year with the involvement of a multi-national cast of speakers! We ask you to pray for the smooth implementation of travel arrangements and that they will be inspired in their preparation.

We'd also hope that this would be a time of refreshment and encouragement for each of them.

Continue to remember family members who haven't travelled.

Special Events

Dick Dowsett

This year we are pleased to introduce a students breakfast on our last Saturday morning with Dick Dowsett, but we continue to have our women's and children's events as well as our Monday afternoon seminar and Friday youth night!

It's a busy programme and we would appreciate prayer for those involved in the planning and the speakers who will prepare and lead these events.

Over the next couple of updates, we'll try and introduce some of our speakers this year.

He was educated at Sherborne School, Dorset and spent a gap year working as a youth worker in inner-city Liverpool. He then studied history at Bristol University, where he captained the rugby side. He was a Lay Assistant at Christ Church Clifton in Bristol, then after working briefly for Hewlett Packard, he moved on to train for ordination at Wycliffe College, Oxford. He was ordained in 1994 and soon after, joined All Souls. He has spent the last few years developing 'Christianity Explored'. In 2003 Rico led the Oxford University 'OICCU' Mission, and he is a National Director of Christians in Sport. Rico's hobbies are rugby, golf and films. He married Lucy in December 2008 and their son Peter was born in October 2010.
