Launch events
Our main events will take place on Wednesday 23rd May so please pray that as we make the final detailed arrangements for these that we will be inspired by the Spirit and that invitations will be responded to positively. Pray also for our speaker Colin Dickson as he prepares his talks for the different elements.
Data Protection
New government regulations which apply to all charities etc., such as ourselves which hold information about individuals, come into force in May. Please pray for the committee as we seek to cope with the obligations now placed on us and that we will not lose any of our prayer supporters as a result of the process.
Colin Spence
Colin is a longstanding member of our Committee and has contributed significantly to the work of the Convention down the years. He is currently facing a major health issue and we would ask for prayer for him, Winnie and the family at this trying time.
Update from Colin
Winnie has gone for a CT scan this afternoon (Wednesday March 28) for pains that she has been experiencing over recent months. Her results will go to the consultant she is under. I had a PET scan of the tumour in my oesophagus on Saturday March 24 and then a CT scan on Monday. The team dealing with my case have asked me to have an another OGD/Gastroscopy and more biopsies on Friday March 30. The scans are to give them as much information about the nature of the cancer cells, whether or not it is contained or has spread to anywhere else in my body.
All of the results will go to the team of consultants/specialists who are overseeing my treatment
Earlier today [Wednesday] I prayed the following (after reading the story of the deliverance of the demon-possessed man in Mark chapter 5)
"I choose life today Father, I will not live in the place of death. I choose to believe your Word, your promises, to say yes to your healing through Jesus.
My desire is to continue serving our persecuted brothers and sisters across the world, to minister to them but in the power of your Holy Spirit. That I might speak and preach out of personal experience and testimony about what great things the Lord has done for me."
Friday 30th March
Colin had his appointment as planned and received the bad news that the cancer has spread to the surrounding areas. He has to see the Oncologist now to arrange treatment which they say will slow the cancer down a little.
As you can appreciate Colin, Winnie and the family are going through very difficult times so we ask that you uphold him and the family before the throne of grace and that the Lord will answer all our prayers according to His perfect will.
