Bible Readings / Speaker Profile

Paul Mallard

The 2015 Bible readings at Worldwide will be lead by Pastor Paul Mallard. Bible readings will run daily from Monday 24th through to Friday 28th August from 11.30am in Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church.

Since being called to the pastoral ministry in 1982, Paul has served as pastor in three churches – Chippenham, Worcester and Bath. For three years he was the President of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. He has been involved in a variety ministerial training schemes. Paul is currently the pastor of Widcombe Baptist Church in Bath. We look forward to hearing the message Paul brings us from God’s Word.

Invest in Your suffering

In addition to leading our morning Bible readings, Paul and his wife Edrie will share in a special event to be held on Wednesday 26th August. For the last twenty years Paul and Edrie have had to live with Edrie's serious neurological degenerative disease. This has shaped their ministry and it has proved God's faithfulness. Paul has also written a book entitled Invest Your Suffering. The couple will share their thoughts and bring biblical encouragement out of their experience of chronic illness in this one off event. Registration is required online and the event will start at 12.45pm in Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church.

Prayer

Chairmen and Worship Leaders

The Chairmen and Worship Leaders play an important role each night in creating the context in which God’s Word will be shared. Please pray for them as they prepare that they will be inspired by the Holy Spirit and led by Him as they in turn lead us.

Technical Support

We have a number of volunteers who work hard to ensure that the meetings run smoothly. Please pray for them in their planning and that the equipment not be subject to any breakdowns which would be so disruptive in the meetings.

Convention Secretary & Chairman

At this stage there is a myriad of detailed arrangements to be dealt with. Give thanks for Lesley and her gifts of administration and pray that she will be able to keep on top of issues as they arise. Remember Tom too as he carries out his duties as Chairman, providing leadership and guidance to the Committee and speakers throughout the Convention.

Speakers

Continue to pray for them as they prepare their talks. Remember especially Jamie Hudson Taylor as he prepares his sermon for the Radio Ulster broadcast on 23rd August.

In all your prayers, please pray for God to be glorified in all the Convention events and activities.
