Amy Carmichael
December 16th 2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Amy Carmichael who left Northern Ireland for India in the late 1890s and never returned. She dedicated her life to working with orphan children through her Dohnavur Fellowship and also built up a worldwide reputation as a writer. A specially commissioned sculpture of Amy will be unveiled at Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church Bangor – the host to the Convention – on Saturday 16th (invitation only) and then her unique life will be celebrated at the evening service on 17th to which all are invited.
Meetings
Please pray for meetings of our Finance Committee and of the main Committee during the first week of the month. This is a busy time of year for us all and we are grateful to those, especially our treasurers, who give up their time in such a generous way. Pray that we would know God’s presence and guidance at both these meetings so that we can progress the work of the Convention in line with His will.
Speakers
Please pray about a few outstanding responses to our invitations to speakers to be part of our 2018 panel. Pray that these will soon be clarified so that we can move on in our preparations for the Convention next year.
