DECEMBER 2021Welcome to the December mailer and our last prayer update of 2021. As we near the end of another year, we move closer to celebrating the birth of Jesus.
“Joy to the World, the Lord is come - Let earth receive her King!
GOD'S GREAT
BIG WORLDA key part of Bangor Worldwide’s vision is to ignite a desire in young people to go and serve God - so if you have children and they didn’t attend the Great Big World online event, they can watch it again, hosted by our friends at CEF.
IRELAND
FOCUSOn Thursday night during the Convention, we focused on Ireland and heard of God at work on our land and off our shores too. Watch it again to hear from Samuel Cowan of Seamen's Christian Friend Society and opportunities that opened for their ministry during the pandemic.
SUPPORTER
CHURCHESWe are grateful for those churches who have joined in partnership with us as ‘supporter churches’ to deepen their connection to our work all year round. We would welcome more so if your church would be interested in signing up via email (lorraine@worldwidemission.org)
FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING
Please remember this committee as it meets to review the Worldwide finances for 2021 on 6th December. Pray that we will be encouraged by the final total for income in a “not quite normal“ year and that there will be plenty to share with our hard-pressed mission agencies
In addition to receiving a report on the finances, we have many other important items to consider including a revamp of the website, a draft programme for the convention next August, our Launch in May and the way forward on Supporter churches. Please pray for us as we consider these matters – that God would guide through His Spirit and that the decisions we make will be fully in line with His will
The important starting point for our plans for this event is confirming the speaker and an approach has been made to someone who we consider would be very suitable. Please pray for him as he considers the invitation and that he will be guided by God in making his response. If his answer is no, pray that the committee will be inspired as we seek an alternative.
