Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

Welcome to our December Prayer Update. We appreciate your continued prayers and look forward to seeing what 2012 has in store for Bangor Worldwide!

Nelun Fernando

Ajith Fernando

Please continue to pray for Ajith and Nelun. In a note at the end of November he writes,

Nelun is doing well, though there are days of strong reactions to the chemotherapy. She is half way through her 8 rounds of chemo. She is as busy as ever, continuing her ministry on the phone “.

Worldwide Giving

We're deeply encouraged to see that the money raised by Worldwide has risen this year. Although this is largely due to the effect of our Waterfront celebration it will be a real encouragement to many agencies who are having to deal with difficult financial situations at the moment.

Each year Worldwide donates around £150,000 to Missions Agencies and we can only do this with your support. Please continue to pray that the large number of new donors this year will contiue to support the convention in the future.

For more information on giving through the convention, check out the finance pages on our website.

New initiatives from Worldwide

Continue to pray for new initiatives being taken by Worldwide. In particular we are seeking to draw retired missionaries into our work, so pray that we will be able to get in contact with many who will have the time available to meet for fellowship and support .

We have also identified a need to provide support for mission secretaries in local congregations so please pray that we will be able to make contact with them and provide the help they need.

Should you fall into either category our secretary would like to hear from you! Send an email to Lesley (secretary@worldwidemission.org) and she'll be in touch!

Like-minded Conventions

We're in touch with several conventions that run throughout the province in an attempt to explore how we can improve co-operation between them.

These are only at the very early stages but pray that God would direct in all that we discuss.
