Give thanks for a good year for the Convention in 2016. While the income figure did not quite match the heights of 2015 which had been inflated by the Waterfront event that year, we were not far short and that is very encouraging for all of us, not least our Treasurers. As this money goes into the bank accounts of well over 100 mission agencies, please pray that they too will be encouraged and that the money will be effectively used to extend God’s kingdom around the world.

Launch

In May of each year we have the publicity launch of our Convention programme. Please pray for the committee as it finalises arrangements for this important event in our calendar, that we will have an attractive programme for the morning which will draw in support from mission agencies and local churches.

New Initiatives

As is the case each year, we are looking at having a few new features in our programme for 2017 in addition to the regular morning and evening meetings. Please pray that we will settle on the right plans which are in line with God’s will for next year. Also , that we will have wisdom regarding whether to repeat some of the initiatives introduced in previous years.

Membership

The number of members on our committee has gradually declined through retirements to the point where we see the need to bring on a few new people. This is an opportunity to introduce fresh ideas and new ways of thinking about the Convention, so please pray that we will be guided to the people of God’s choice and that they will respond positively to our offer to join us.
