Points for Prayer

Finance

Give thanks that we have had another good year from the financial perspective and we trust that as the money goes out to over 100 mission agencies that they will be encouraged and their work strengthened. This is an important aspect of the work of the Convention so pray that we will be open to new ways of boosting our income so that we can be an even greater support to mission activity.

Musalaha

Worldwide 2017 had a visit from Salim and Lisa, representatives of Musalaha, an agency which works for reconciliation between Christians in Israel and Palestine. We have had the following prayer request from them.... “ From January 11th to 14th, The Lausanne bridge building initiative is meeting in Cyprus with 15 Palestinian Christian leaders and 15 Messianic Jewish leaders. The agenda is focusing on Justice, the land and Jerusalem. The decision of President Trump has made this even more contentious. Pray for us as we seek to mediate and that their mutual love of Christ and the gospel will draw these brothers and sisters closer to each other in spite of such profound differences.”2018 Convention

Give thanks that we have made good progress in finalising our speakers programme for Convention 2018. There are still a few important elements which need to be clarified so please pray that we will be able to do this over the coming weeks.

Amy Carmichael

Give thanks for a blessed time celebrating the 150th anniversary of Amy’s birth. Our prayers were answered as even the weather was kind! Over 100 guests were present at the unveiling of a sculpture of Amy as a child on Saturday afternoon and then on the Sunday evening over 400 attended a service celebrating her life. Give thanks also for the good publicity which the event attracted.

Committee membership

This time last year we asked for prayer for new committee members so please give thanks that another new member started with us in December. Lorraine Moore has always been very supportive of our work and we look forward to the contribution she will make to Worldwide in days to come.
