George Verwer

George first spoke at Bangor Worldwide in the 60s and is keen to come back to help celebrate our 80th anniversary this summer.

In this promo video, he encourages us to be ‘mission mobilisers’ - “Bangor Worldwide can only be as strong as the people praying for it and speaking about it to others”. We wholeheartedly agree - spread the word!

Musalaha - Reconciliation

Reconciliation

Musalaha

At our closing night at the Waterfront last year, a small team from Musalaha, an organisation which seeks to nurture important conversations between Palestinian Christians and Messianic Jews, were presented and prayed for.

The group met in January in Cyprus and after a period of prayer and fellowship, produced a statement affirming their unity as believers in Jesus.

Prayer Points

Visit of African Childrens Choir

On 11th May, as part of our publicity launch for the 2016 Convention, we are hosting an evening event with the African Children’s Choir at the Elim Church Complex in Bangor. Give thanks for the great cooperation we have had from the Choir organisers and the management of the Complex in our preparations to date. There is much yet to be finalised however so please pray especially for our secretary, Lesley, as she arranges accommodation, food, transport etc. for our visitors and that the whole process will not prove too stressful. Pray also for Jonny Sanlon who is in charge of the details for the event itself that these will quickly fall into place. This is a new venture for us and our prayer is that it will make a good contribution to the work of the Convention.

Global Village

A key feature of the Convention each year is the Global Village which runs throughout the week. Normally over 70 mission agencies are represented and their stalls are staffed by representatives who seek to engage visitors – young and old – in discussion about their work. Arrangements for this aspect are in the hands of the Missionary Workers Fellowship and we give thanks for the good cooperation which there has been down the years between the various interests. As planning gets underway for the 2016 Global Village, please pray for those involved that arrangements for bookings etc. will run smoothly as this work is done in addition to their normal duties.

Youth Event

We had the second of our Ignite Youth events last Friday and were encouraged by an attendance of over 100 young people who came from Greenisland, Donaghadee and all towns in between! Please pray that the message will continue to work in the hearts and minds of those present and in due course bear spiritual fruit. Pray also for Keith and the team as they plan for the final event on 22nd April.
