Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

Prayer Update

Nathan Jess

  1. Thank you for continuing to pray for the C7 group and its work with government agencies to promote the main Christian Conferences in NI. We have now completed the first draft of a Marketing Plan and submitted it to the Tourist Board so do continue to pray that we will be able to finalise it quickly and begin the more positive aspects of implementation
    .
  2. Please pray for the Committee as it meets on the 14th and 16th of this month to finalise preparations for our launch on 31st May and also to do some preliminary work on our programme for 2013. Specifically, pray for the response to our invitations from local clergy, mission secretaries, retired missionaries and congregational mission secretaries. We long for a good number to come along so that, in turn, they will  help to publicise the Convention and this years  programme which contains a number of innovations. Pray also for those taking part as we seek to emphasise the new elements in the schedule for this year.

  3. Continue to pray for wisdom for the committee as we seek to explore ways of enhancing our website and improve communication especially with young people.

Convention 2012 Update

Full details of a very busy programme are available on the website and there will be a formal public launch on Thursday 31st  of May.

Convention 2012 will run (DV) from Friday 24th August to Saturday 1st September. As has been the case throughout its long history, the convention will focus entirely on mission and will be open to all, free of charge.

We plan in the next few updates to have a look at various seminars and events that will run over the course of the week.

Nelun Fernando Update

Finally, the latest update on Nelun Fernando, who was diagnosed with cancer when her husband Ajith was taking our Bible Readings last year. Ajith writes;

Nelun has completed 19 of 25 rounds of Radiotherapy. I am so glad that my flexi-time schedule allowed me to keep a full schedule of work and also go with her daily to the hospital (a 3-4 hours process). I am really sad that I cannot go for her last few rounds.

Our almost nine-month journey with cancer has almost ended. I believe we can confidently say that Nelun is rid of the cancer. What a difference Christ has made to this journey! And how grateful we are to our many friends and relatives who mediated God’s grace in numerous ways!
