Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

We hope you've all enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations! We appreciate your prayers for Worldwide and ask you to continue to remember the upcoming Convention in your prayers.

Prayer Update

Raymond Pitt, Lindsay Davis and John Woodside at the 2012 Convention Launch

Give thanks for a successful publicity launch. We had our largest attendance to date and John Woodside brought a very encouraging word about work in the Republic. Please pray that our publicity material – 35000 leaflets, as well as posters and DVDs – will be used effectively to inform people about the Convention and encourage them to attend. Our DVD  in particular is well worth seeing!

Please pray that we will be guided to new ways of getting information out particularly to those who have never heard of us.

We took the opportunity at the launch to highlight our new features for 2012.

Please pray for good responses to our Medical Seminar, the Reception for Retired Missionaries and our Seminar for those with Learning difficulties,

Please pray for our ongoing discussions about our website and how we might invest in it to make it even more effective.

Please pray that our prayer support will grow and that more will sign up to receive our prayer updates.

Promotional Material

This year we have been fortunate to have various videos available to promote the 2012 Convention. As well as our Promotional Video, we also have a Programme Information video, giving an overview of the various seminars that will be running over the course of the week. You can download these videos to use at your church or event by visiting our Vimeo site.

We also have a variety of leaflets and posters available. If you can help promote Worldwide 2012 in anyway, please get in touch with Lesley Stewart (Convention Secretary) to arrange provision of these.

Bangor Worldwide Stories

Thomas McClean

We're currently looking to talk to people who have any stories/memories of Bangor Worldwide. We can't guarantee using all of them, but we feel it is important to tap into our rich history and to find out more about how God has blessed the Convention and indeed people through the Convention.

A few weeks ago - Thomas McClean sat down with Jonathan Sanlon to talk about his memories - have a look here.

Medical Seminar

On Monday 27th August at 2.30pm, we will be holding a Medical Seminar with Sid & Jean Garland (Mission Africa) Shirley Stronge (PCI) Dr Rory & Denise Wilson, CMS Uganda. If you're a doctor, midwife, healthcare professional, students looking for elective ideas, recently retired, or looking to take a career break why not come along.  Of course, tea & coffee served & there'll be lots of time for networking!

Social Media

For those of you who keep up to date with all the goings on in technology, Bangor Worldwide have added Facebook to it's social media sites. You can like us here on Facebook, follow us on twitter with @bangorworldwide or view videos of our speakers on vimeo!
