Jose Moreno

EMF’s Jose Moreno spoke at the Convention about “the time of unprecedented opportunity” to spread the gospel in Spain. Listen to his call for prayer to send labourers into the field and for perseverance in this vital work.

Rev David Bruce had some kind words to say about us at the closing night concert: “The work of this Convention, as it has been happening year on year in this place (Bangor) and increasingly in others too, to highlight this imperative 'to go' has been just phenomenal.” Watch his talk in full on this link.

Pastor Mulinde

It has been recently reported that Pastor Umar Mulinde, who spoke at the Convention on Tuesday night, has escaped another attempted assault by Islamic extremists. “We narrowly survived – I only lost a number of my personal household goods and office items such as laptops, iPads and phones, but precious life remains intact,” Pastor Mulinde told the Morning Star News.

Prayer Points

Convention Committee

We have seen some changes in the membership of the Convention Committee over the last few months. We have said goodbye to Ian Wallace and to Lindsay Moorhead and have welcomed Val Gibson to our number. Give thanks for the service which Ian and Lindsay have given – in Ian’s case over 44 years! Please pray for Val as she gets familiar with the workings of committee and seeks to make her own contribution.

Convention 2019

We are progressing well with our planning for next year’s Convention and as always we are thinking of ways to increase its reach. One provision we would like to be able to offer is a creche in association with our morning meetings. To do this we require some experienced help, so please pray that we will be guided to the right people who could make this provision a reality.

Student Link

We have been made aware of the possibility of linking up with a gathering of students from around the island, which takes place in Castlewellan each year at the same time as the Convention. We have had a very positive exploratory meeting with CUI, so please pray that both sides will know God’s guidance as we work together to finalise the details.

Convention Prayer Meeting

Give thanks that the prayer meeting, which meets each Monday morning to support the work of the Convention and which has just celebrated its 80th birthday, has recently been going from strength to strength numerically. It even has a satellite in Florida USA! Pray that the leader Eric Lindsay and his faithful band of prayer warriors will know God’s blessing as they go about this vital work.
