Convention 2018
Give thanks for a very special Convention this year which God blessed in so many ways. Attendances were increased at most events but particularly at the morning Bible Studies and the prayer meetings which was a particular encouragement. Please pray that the messages delivered at the Convention will continue to speak in hearts and minds and that we will see many answers to prayers in the coming days. Give thanks that during the week we had contact from over 50 countries through our video downloads and pray that these will have been helpful to those involved.
Social Media
We vastly increased the range of our social media with a “reach” on Facebook alone over the week of the convention, to over 50,000 but we had to really stretch our limited resources in this area to achieve this outcome. Please pray that people who are have the necessary skills will come forward to offer help and be committed to serving in this ministry next year. Pray also for Jonny Sanlon who looks after media for us, as heads goes to Zimbabwe this month to do some filming for SIM International.
New Initiative
The committee has entered into an agreement with Frontiers to release Jason Brodie from their staff for one day a week to do development work for the Convention especially among young people and students. He will work alongside Lorraine Moore and they will contact local churches to strengthen their links with our event. Please pray for them as they set out on this new venture and that they will be encouraged through the contacts they make. Pray also that we will see tangible fruit for their labours in the months that lie ahead.
Committee Meeting
Please pray for the committee as it meets on the 23rd of this month. On the agenda will be the programme for next year’s Convention and also our annual Launch event in May. Please pray that we will be led by the Spirit to reach the decisions which are in line with God’s Will for Bangor Worldwide 2019.
