Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

The Convention is almost on us. Excitement is rising as speakers arrive in from around the world so we thought that it would be good to let you know how things are going.

Convention Preview

We have been really encouraged by the responses so far to our “ first time “ initiatives – for Retired Missionaries on Friday evening and for Congregational Mission Secretaries on Saturday morning. Pre-bookings confirm that both of these will be well attended. Also, It looks like we will have our busiest Friday night Prayer Meeting for many years.

The next nine days will be busy so please check the programme to make sure that you don’t miss anything. One of many highlights is likely to be our final night ( Sat 1st ) when we will be providing a rare opportunity to hear Canon Andrew White – the Vicar of Baghdad. He has seen members of his church kidnapped or killed, lost many friends and had a “ dead or alive “ wanted poster of him  posted on walls around the city. His story is compelling. Please come early if you plan to attend as it promises to be very busy and a memorable way to end our Convention.

Overall, we have an ambitious programme of around 30 different events. Please pray that all the arrangements for these will run smoothly, with no technical hitches, or other frustrations. In addition to remembering our speakers, especially those who are with us for the first time, also pray for our chairmen and worship leaders, that all we do will bring glory to God.

Media

Just a reminder too, that you can access 3 years worth of audio and video material through our website. As usual this year, we will be making content available as soon as possible after meetings and we will not be taking orders for CD's.
