Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

worldwide 10 is near!

The first piece of correspondence in relation to planning Worldwide 2010 was dated May 2008, and now the event is only a few weeks away! We believe God has been with us on the journey since then, guiding the Committee as it sought to bring the programme together.

Much prayer has been offered up already for Worldwide 2010 (amazingly, the 74th annual Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention!) but we need to continue to pray up to, and through, the week’s events – conscious of the words of Psalm 127 verse 1 ‘unless the Lord build the house, its builders labour in vain...

We trust that, this year, many hearts will be stirred up and challenged about their involvement in mission, in whatever way God leads, and that, ultimately, He will be glorified!

(Convention Secretary)

Prayer Focus

Please join with us in praying:

  • For all our speakers as they finalise their preparations for WW2010, especially the Bible teachers, Mark Buchanan (who will lead the Morning Bible Readings) and Chris Wright, who will have a number of speaking slots during the week.

  • For safe travel to Bangor for our speakers

  • That the WW2010 publicity programme will bear fruit in many people attending throughout the week

  • That many new people will come this year and have a very positive experience, which will turn them into "regulars" for future years.

  • For new, and younger, people to join the current faithful band of prayer warriors at the Morning Prayer Meetings during the week

  • For our new afternoon initiatives e.g. the Wednesday afternoon Students Seminar sponsored by Belfast Bible College

  • For technical and organisational details to be addressed over the next few weeks

  • For the finalising of our new WW2010 Convention brochure

  • That God will lead us to the person of His choice, as Eddie steps down as Convention Secretary after Worldwide 2010

  • For ongoing preparations for the 75th Bangor Missionary Convention in 2011, including the anniversary celebration planned for the Waterfront Hall, Belfast..
