In our last mailout of 2014, we give thanks for all of God’s blessings to the work and witness of Bangor Worldwide. Once again we thank you, our supporters, for your faithful prayers, donations and presence at our Convention. As ever, our thoughts move to to 2015 as the committee finalise the lineup

Samaritan's Purse

Perhaps you are rushing around getting Christmas presents ordered, bought and wrapped for your nearest and dearest. Spare a thought for the staff and volunteers at Samaritans Purse depots around the UK as they sort through hundreds and thousands of shoeboxes that will be given to children across the world. The final drop off day was 18th November so the process of getting the boxes ready for distribution is now in full swing.

SAT-7 Wins Film Awards

Two short films produced by SAT-7, A Dress Film and Braids, drew awards in two different film festivals, one in Egypt and one in Mauritania. Both films promote women’s rights and raise awareness of social challenges they face.

On the subject of films and videos, we once again remind you of the vast material we have available over on our website archive. We've been blessed to have many fantastic visiting speakers over the years and we've been fortunate to be able to record these recently. Why not take a look and perhaps share some of the video content with your friends and family via social media.

Whilst we do our best to make all talks available, we hope you understand that we are not able to publish some of our speakers due to the sensitive nature of their work.

Points for Prayer

WIsdom

This is the time of year when we review our finances and disperse the income received in 2014 to a wide range of Mission Agencies. Please pray for the Finance Committee as it meets on Friday 5th December that those present will have wisdom in deciding how any undesignated funds should be used. Give thanks for the generosity of God’s people in their giving through the Convention and also for the long hours which Cecil and Norman put in to ensure that all aspects of our finances are dealt with efficiently and effectively.

Plans & Publicity

Please pray for the main Committee as it meets on 8th December, that we will be guided as we deal with the many important items before us. One of these is how best to publicise our Waterfront event in 2014. Tickets go on sale from the beginning of December and we will need wisdom as to how to get the message out cost effectively.

Fellow Conventions

In recent times we have been working with the other Christian Conventions in the Province to seek government assistance in publicising our events in the UK and beyond. Give thanks for a very positive meeting last week with key officials who have agreed to support us and give us the benefit of their expertise in this area.

UFM Filming

Continue to pray for Jonathan Sanlon, a member of our committee, who is currently filming in Irian Jaya for UFM. Pray that he, and all the party, will be kept safe and well and that their visit will be a real encouragement to those out in that particular mission field.
