Stand by Me builds a secure children’s village in Shan State

Shan State is an area in the west of Burma troubled by war, conflict, persecution, poverty and the trafficking of children. The rigid control of resources by armed forces has resulted in the majority of the population living in extreme poverty and many children have been left orphaned or living without adequate care.

This was the motivation for Stand by Me to adopt two children’s homes in Shan State bringing care, an education and love to children in crisis.

Prayer Update

BBC Broadcast

We have been informed that the BBC ( Radio Ulster ) are to do a live broadcast of the Sunday morning service at Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church on 23rd August during the first weekend of the Convention. We have begun working with the Church on the content of the service which will include Worldwide speakers. This is the first time the Convention has had the opportunity to reach literally tens of thousands of listeners in this way and so we would ask for prayer for those involved in the planning that they will be inspired by God and produce a service which is honouring to Him.

Launch Event

We have planned our Launch Event for Wednesday 27th May and the invitations for this will be issued ( DV ) shortly after the Easter break to local clergy, mission agency representatives, and former missionaries. Please pray that these invitations will not be ignored but that they will draw in a good response. Ministers / pastors are very busy people so it is particularly encouraging for us if they make the effort to attend.

Waterfront Event

Tickets for our final night of the 2015 Convention at the Waterfront Hall are selling steadily. Please pray that this will continue and that we will not have to spend additional funds on publicity.
