Little bit about North India…..
North India comprises of 23 States with more than 800 million population with more than 1500 languages and dialects. Some of the north Indian states have been referred to in Hindi as Bhimarou, or sick states, due to large numbers of school drop outs and related violent activities. Many young males roam aimlessly and lack social respect and dignity. Some end up as recruits in militant communist groups. In addition to this there are social problems related to poverty, addiction, human trafficking, abuse of women, ill health, same sex marriages, depression, family division etc.
50% of the North India population is under 25 years of age, which equates to approximately 300 million people. In the north of India, the vast majority are classified “unreached/least–reached” (An unreached or least–reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group.
Our vision is to see young people and women influenced in their values and attitudes resulting in positive change such as increased social action, making good moral choices and discovering that God has a purpose for their lives and ultimately will choose to follow Jesus as they witness the transforming grace of Christ through acts of compassion and social outreach.
