As we reflect on our 90th Convention, we have many reasons to give thanks to God and rejoice in His goodness to us .
To celebrate reaching this significant milestone in the life of the convention, the organising committee had expanded the normal programme to include special events such as revisiting the Pickie Arena, after several decades, for an open-air service.
The Lord blessed each of these initiatives which was such an encouragement. Our newest satellite venue in Portrush Presbyterian Church got off to a great start with over 1000 coming to its first meeting.
But it was not just the "specials".
Attendances at the regular prayer meetings were higher than anyone could remember. Similarly, numbers at the Bible Studies and Evening Meetings were up on previous years. The concerns we had about moving from our usual host venue for the Convention while building work was being undertaken, and the confusion that could result, failed to materialise.
Our updated version of the history of Bangor Worldwide, told through the eyes of those whose lives had been transformed by it, was published in time for the Convention and has been well received. God has indeed been good in so many ways!
The Celebration event on the closing Saturday evening, held in a packed Waterfront Hall, was a fitting and uplifting conclusion to a Convention that will remain long in the memories of all who had the privilege of being there.
The Worldwide team serves faithfully year-round with one aim in mind: to create a space where people of all ages can listen, learn, and respond to the call of the Lord Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations.
