James, the great–great grandson of the founder of the China Inland Mission (now OMF International), J. Hudson Taylor, was born and raised in Taiwan. Since 2007, James has served as the Consulting Director for OMF’s Chinese Ministries, focusing upon mission mobilization and cross–cultural missionary training.

In 1993, James married Mimi (Ke Yeh–min) Taylor, a graduate in voice performance of Soo–chow University (Bachelor Degree) and Boston University (Master Degree).
