Keith Preston has served with the Irish Mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland since 1986. He is currently serving in The International Meeting Point, a PCI/South Belfast Presbytery outreach to asylum seekers and refugees on the Lisburn Road, Belfast. IMP provides practical and spiritual help including food, Esol Classes and Bible Studies.
After finishing his study at Union Theological College Keith Preston moved with his wife and family of three to Clonmel, Co. Tipperary in 1987. Work there was primarily door–to–door and children’s clubs. In 1998 the family (now with five children) moved to Clones, Co. Monaghan where Keith pioneered a hotel Bible Study outreach. In response to the increasing migrant population in Dungannon, Keith commenced a ministry there in 2001 involving English language classes in order to reach this community with the gospel. In 2010 the family moved again, this time to Belfast. Here Keith began the work among asylum seekers and refugees on the Lisburn Road. IMP has grown steadily since then and now has three full time and one part–time member of staff along with over eighty volunteers.
