Bangor Worldwide launch summer theme ‘Go Tell It’
as international speakers lined up for 89th Convention
Bangor Worldwide has released details of their plans for Convention week, from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th August, during its preview launch events held this week.
Speaking at the launch events, Chairman Tom Clarke said, “Our theme for 2025 is Go Tell It. As Christians, we are all encouraged to go and share the good news of the Gospel. This year we will be hearing from people who are doing just that both locally and globally.
“Bible teaching is a vitally important part of Bangor Worldwide and this year we are delighted that Rev Joe Barnard will be guiding us through the book of Colossians. The Bible studies start each morning at 11.30am and run from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd.
“International speakers making the journey to Northern Ireland that week include Igor Bandura from the Baptist Union of Ukraine, Berendi Dusan from Serbia, Liz Parker who works with MAF in Uganda and Iulian Mangalagiu CEF’s Director of Europe.
“The majority of the events will be held at Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church but there are also satellite events in Drumreagh, Dollingstown and Magherafelt.
“There will be a special Equip Gathering on Saturday 16th in City Church (1st Bangor Presbyterian) for 20s and 30s led by Voddie Baucham from Zambia. ECM will run a seminar on Friday afternoon entitled ‘Love Europe’ which will take guests on an imaginary flight to Athens in Greece to explore the challenges to the gospel in Europe. Registration will be required for some of the events, so please check the programme in full and book in via the Bangor Worldwide website.”
An evening launch was held in Hamilton Road Baptist Church, Bangor with additional leaders' brunches in Bangor and Union Theological College, Belfast. Andy Prime from Scotland spoke at the events and his sermon on Acts 10 can be listened back on Worldwide's podcast channel.
